Beginning Salsa I

This class is for people with no experience or with very limited experience dancing salsa. The focus is on developing a strong foundation in technique, music timing, leading and following. Basic spins and basic concepts of men and women styling are also introduced.
No dance experience is necessary. No partner is necessary. This is a 4-week session.
Cost: $45 adults $40 13-18 yrs old $12 drop-ins

Intermediate Salsa
7:00pm to 8:00pm
Ankeny Street Dance Studios: 975 SE Ankeny St. Portland, Oregon.

This class will teach you a variety of combinations that are easy to execute on the dance floor, as well as a a variety of shines and styling. You will also learn spins, leading and following technique. This is for dancers with at least 6-8 months of formal salsa dance instruction. Drop-ins are welcome. If you have not gone through formal beginners classes, this class may be extremely frustrating, as it is expected that you have already mastered the most basic principles of dancing, such as mambo, side, and cumbia steps, cbl, cbl w. turn, under arm turn, open breaks, hammer-lock, sliding doors, basic shines, single solo spins, and back spot turns.
Cost: $45 for 4 week session, $12 per drop-ins Summer session

Advanced Beginners Social Class takes it up a notch. It is for dancers who have three to six months experience taking classes. In this class our focus is partnering, dance technique, styling and shines. Different ways of spinning are also introduced, and You Master the moves BEFORE you hit the dance floor !!
Cost: $55 for 6 week session, $12 per drop-ins
